Job Description
Flowbit AI builds next-generation automation and AI systems for enterprises.
We work with complex, real-world problems—documents, data pipelines, process automation, and modern UI engineering. Our platform powers automation across industries such as manufacturing, logistics, and finance, helping companies save time, reduce costs, and operate with higher efficiency.
We are a design-driven engineering team focused on:
- Clean, maintainable, high-quality code
- Strong engineering judgment
- Fast execution without compromising on craft
- Building real products that solve business problems
Responsibilities:
- Convert Figma screens into a functional, responsive React + Tailwind interface
- Integrate satellite/drone imagery using the WMS NRW API
- Implement interactive map features (draw, view, zoom, overlays, etc.)
- Write meaningful Playwright tests demonstrating testing strategy
- Produce a thoughtful README with:
- Map library selection rationale
- Architecture decisions
- Performance considerations
- Testing approach
- Tradeoffs made
- What would be added for production-readiness
- Participate in code reviews and show reasoning behind coding choices
- Collaborate independently and communicate progress clearly
Role Overview:
- We are looking for a Frontend Engineering Intern with strong fundamentals in React, TypeScript, Tailwind, and an eagerness to work with geospatial mapping and satellite imagery.
- You will translate a detailed Figma design into a polished, performant, and interactive single-page application using a mapping library of your choice (Leaflet, MapLibre, OpenLayers, etc.).
- Your work will be evaluated exactly like a real product engineer’s work:
architecture clarity, component structure, test strategy, and documentation.
Core Technical Skills (Must-Have):
- React + TypeScript proficiency
- Tailwind CSS for styling complex UI and components
- Vite for fast development workflows
- Ability to translate Figma → Pixel-perfect React components
- Strong understanding of state management (Context API, Zustand, Jotai, Redux Toolkit, etc.)
- Playwright for UI/E2E testing (ability to write minimal but meaningful tests)
- Engineering judgment:
- Clean code
- Component structuring
- Trade-off evaluation
- Separation of concerns
- Basic understanding of performance optimization in frontend apps
- Ability to quickly learn and work with mapping/geospatial libraries (Leaflet, MapLibre, OpenLayers, etc.)
Bonus / Nice-to-Haves:
- Any prior experience with WMS/WFS, satellite imagery, or GIS
- Experience working with Leaflet, MapLibre GL, OpenLayers, or Mapbox GL
- Familiarity with Playwright Test Runner and test heuristics
- Understanding of debouncing, memoization, virtualization, lazy-loading
- Basic knowledge of frontend architecture patterns
Benefits:
- Work closely with experienced founders & engineers
- Real ownership of a meaningful product feature
- Strong portfolio project that showcases both UI + geospatial work
- Fast feedback loops and mentorship
- Certificate + Letter of Recommendation (based on performance)
- Possibility of extending into a part-time or full-time role
- Flexible working hours
- Exposure to enterprise-grade automation systems
